What makes WSA trails so unique?
Our trails are beautiful with some locations featuring hills and others with great flow and turns. All WSA trails are situated in beautiful hardwood forests, too, so you get a real nature experience on your ride, hike, walk, etc.
Are WSA trails for experts and beginners?
Our trails are great for both experts or beginners. For those with riding experience, most of our trails will not present too many difficulties. If you are beginner/intermediate, we have features on all of our trails that can push your limits.
Are your trails family-friendly?
Absolutely. We see a lot of children and families on our trails.
How much does it cost to maintain the trails each year?
It depends.
At Fernald, for example, a trail costs approximately $1,000 per mile to build. The upkeep is about 15% percent of that total each year, which equates to $500 annually for trail maintenance at Fernald. At Abenaki, it costs between $10,000 and $15,000 per mile to build a trail due to its more technical and mountainous terrain. Generally, trails also need to be topped off every 3 to 5 years.
Do you host annual events?
We did the Summer Race Series last year at Abenanki, which we hope to host again in 2022.
Is there anything Else to do in Wolfeboro?
Wolfeboro is an incredible destination with tons of year-round recreational opportunities, great shopping, art galleries, and world-class dining. Most WSA trails are directly accessible from downtown Wolfeboro, too, so you can enjoy a cup of joe, adult beverage, or a wonderful meal before and/or after your experience on WSA trails.
