The Future is Now

A known mecca for lake enthusiasts, Wolfeboro is quietly gaining recognition for its network of sustainable, multi-use trails, and Wolfeboro Singletrack Alliance (WSA) is behind many of them. “We have accomplished a lot in just a few years,” said WSA President Cris Dow.

Located off Cotton Valley Rail Trail, Fernald Station has proven very popular as has Sewall Woods, both of which are suited for riders of different abilities. Abenaki Ski Area and Trask Mountain feature more advanced trails.

We are expanding, too. “We have one trail that just opened at Fernald and another two opening soon at Abenaki,” added Dow.

Who can use these trails? Everyone. “Whether you ride, hike, watch birds, walk, run, ski, snowshoe, or just love nature, everyone is welcome here on WSA trails.

If you build it...

…they will come. That was the vision behind Wolfeboro Singletrack Alliance (WSA). “We imagined Wolfeboro as an expanding network of sustainable trails for mountain bikers and other non-motorized users with year-round recreational and athletic opportunities,” explained WSA Founder Andrew Ingram.

This vision has produced nearly a dozen miles of new trails in Wolfeboro. These trails include Fernald, Abenaki, Sewall Woods, and Trask Mountain.

Planned upcoming projects include expansions at Abenaki Ski area and Fernald. As WSA formalizes more partnerships, Ingram said WSA will announce other developments. “This is an exciting time for us as we raise our profile a bit in the community,” he said. “We are excited.”

New Trail at Abenaki Ski Area

We have a new trail at Abenaki Ski Area. It cuts in 2/3 of the way up Upper Bog Hill Run, winds it's way to the top of Upper Bog Hill Run and then continues to the top of Poor Hill Farm where it junctions into the existing snow shoe / single track trail. You can also access it from the top of Holy Chute. See the RED trail on map. The red line is NOT accurate. It is bi-directional. It's still rough, feel free to work on it! Please come ride it to break it in.

Next we will be working on a trail around the lower section of Upper Bog Hill Run so we will have a full single track trail on this part of the system.
